Janet Slade

Lawyer

Janet practices in the areas of wills and estates, corporate and commercial law, and real estate law. Her firm, Slade & Co., Law Corporation, is associated with Veritas Law.

Having grown up in West Vancouver and, after completing her education here and being called to the Bar as a barrister and solicitor, Janet decided to practice in her home community. Janet has extensive experience in reviewing, negotiating and drafting commercial and real estate agreements. She has acted for thousands of clients on estate planning issues and in the preparation of wills and various trust documents. Janet is also experienced in probating wills and has acted as executrix on numerous occasions.

Community engagement is important to Janet and she enjoys sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience. That said, Janet frequently lectures at Continuing Legal Education Seminars and Bar Admission Courses for the Law Society of British Columbia. Janet has had the pleasure of serving her community as a Director of various charitable foundations concerned with the health, scouting, and cultural areas of various lower mainland communities. She is a valuable member of our group and brings a fierce professionalism and candour to her legal approach.

In her spare time, Janet enjoys a wide range of interests. For instance, she is a proud owner of vineyard producing world-class cabernet grapes since 2007. With that venture, she also acquired a good deal of experience dealing with vineyard management, winemakers, and – of course – wine drinking. When not boating, enjoying a superb glass of wine, working, or travelling, you’ll find her reading her next putt at the golf course.
